To join our group transport scheme

In order to be eligible to book transport, User Groups must first complete and return our registration form.  However, once registered, User Groups do not need to register or provide details about their individual passengers.

Charges

There is an initial charge of £5 on registration and an annual feel of £10 payable on the 1 January each year.  User Groups may travel outside the South Gloucestershire boundary and each journey will be invoiced at £1.54 per mile, starting from the YSDCT yard.

Drivers

We generally try to cover any bookings with our own volunteer drivers and therefore ask for about a month's notice to do this.  User groups are expected to cover the driver's expenses, for example refreshments or entrance fees.  If a volunteer driver is not available, we can provide you with a paid driver which costs £11 per hour.

User Groups may use their own drivers if they have successfully completed MiDAS training and assessment (this would need to be verified by YSDCT - drivers need to provide both parts of their driving licence and a copy of their MiDAS pass certificate).

Driver training

For those wishing to undertake MiDAS training, YSDCT can arrange this for you.  The necessary training and practical assessment takes place over three days in Bristol at a cost of approximately £100.
